Recently many website designers using WordPress platform have found difficulties to remove or change WordPress footer credit in WordPress website. This is because most free themes doesn’t support the options in the dashboard, some theme developers have also hidden their footer credit in an unknown files whereas it was formally easily modified in the footer.php file of the theme editor.
I will show you how to remove or change WordPress footer credit and give your site that professional look and also give yourself the credit of being the designer or perhaps the developer of the site even without a single knowledge of any web programming language although I call this act ‘ stealing by trick’.
Head up to your plugins section in your WordPress admin dashboard, select ‘add new’ and search ‘remove footer credit’. The plugin is developed by Macho Themes. Install and activate the plugin.
Now, on your website homepage, right click if on Google Chrome and select ‘view page source’, on the page source code tab, press (CTRL + F) and type in the footer credit word to find for instance ‘Site designed by’, this should take you to the line of the source code. Copy the anchor link URL.
In your dashboard, go to ‘Tools’ and select ‘Remove Footer Credit’.
Paste in the code you just copied into the first step as shown above. To remove the source code without modifying it to your own credit, just paste the link code inside the first box and leave the second box empty, scroll down and save.

Copy the code in step 1 and paste it in step 2 as shown in the image above, edit the footer credit link and text as shown above and save.
